Afghanistan
Launch of GSM Operator

Afghan Telecom is the state telecom operator offering Fixed, ADSL and CDMA services in all Afghanistan. The Ministry of Telecommunications decided to launch a GSM operator to increase the overall value of the company with views to a future privatization. We took interim charge of all business/commercial areas (Marketing, Sales, Customer Care) and started by developing a Project Plan in coordination with the Network Development area. The plan was then implemented with emphasis in knowledge transfer to a local team with a view to take over operations six months after launch. The launch was extremely successful with 500,000 active customers after the first four months.

Angola
Re-launch of state operator

Angola Telecom was practically bankrupt and we were called to take over the Strategy and Commercial areas with a view to bring the company back to its feet in five years. The first stage was to develop a Strategic Plan identifying the critical issues to address and define the correspondent KPIs to follow the plan. We oversaw all Commercial and Business areas (Sales & Marketing, Finance & Administration) and after two years all KPIs were achieved and the company was on its way to recovery.

Yemen
Launch of a subsidiary of the state operator

We took responsibility for the Commercial and Business areas for the launch of a subsidiary of the state operator that was to deal with the management of the international gateway (monopoly), Internet provision (monopoly) and satellite services to develop a wholesale business to serve the local service retailers.

Liberia
Re-launch of GSM operator

We took over the overall management of a GSM operator in order to bring it back in competitive terms to the market. We addressed all areas from HR to Customer Care, Marketing & Sales, Network, IT, Administration, etc. After one year of operation, the operator climbed back to third place in subscribers in a five-operator landscape.
